Nanowrimo and Pies

The book launch of Prairie Witch has come and gone, and it was a riotous good time! There was a band playing original music for the horror anthology, and the authors in attendance were invited to do a reading. It was a joy to be surrounded by people and to be a part of such a creative community. If you’re not over spooky season yet, then grab a copy of Prairie Witch!

Giveaway

I also have a copy of the Prairie Witch (signed, of course!) and a cute tote bag for one lucky winner! To enter the giveaway, you must be signed up for my newsletter, and comment on the post below your favourite witchy book (for Canadian addresses only). I’ll announce the winner next week.

For all you writers out there, we enter the real spooky season. I mean Nanowrimo, of course! Anybody writing a novel this month?

Nanowrimo is an event hundreds of thousands of writers take part in around the world, with the goal of writing a novel – or 50,000 towards one, within the month. Not impossible – and even if you haven’t started yet, there’s lots of time to get in the game!

I’m not, in fact, going to be taking part, because I just finished writing a first draft in October and I’m a little tapped out – and have other projects that need to be taken care of. But if you are taking the plunge (and it is so much fun to take part in), then check out some of the resources I’ve put together:

Keep your fork; there’s pie

Who likes pie? Because with November comes another fun event for you foodies out there: Sally’s Pie Week!

Sally’s Baking Addiction is one of my favourite food blogs for baking, and her recipes are top. Every November she creates a weeks worth of pie recipes. I struggle so much with pie, I am not a natural but I’m going to try to make at least one this month!
